Dr David Shooter graduated from the University of Queensland in 1999. He has a broad experience of Queensland health care, working in Townsville, Redcliffe, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, before completing his specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery (2009) at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, the Royal Children’s Hospitals and the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital.
Since completing his orthopaedic training, Dr Shooter has been the Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital and he has spent twelve months in the United Kingdom completing an Orthopaedic Oncology fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London, working exclusively in the Bone Tumour and Reconstruction Unit.
Dr Shooter is a general orthopaedic surgeon working in private practice who sub-specialises in orthopaedic oncology, revision arthroplasty, knee and ankle conditions, general trauma and most upper limb conditions.
